The concept of eco-friendly environment management struck a chord of interest on how remediation touches lives of man & industry, that lead to formation of Biorem Solutions.
Shekar Iyer is a chemistry graduate from Mumbai, with 36 years of experience in handling business operations and project management, in the Middle-East. He is a survivor having been through 2 Gulf wars, and even in adversity spotted opportunity for doing business. He is a relationship builder and that lead to the discovery of the Principal Company in USA. He saw a significant opportunity in the 34 years of research done by them and its relevance to the Indian market when he came across projects such as Ganga Cleaning.
Shyam Kumar is a mechanical engineer from Bangalore, with over 23 years of experience in having built businesses and product-lines from scratch, besides Institutional Sales. He was formerly the Indian Head of a US$ 700 million Group, engaged in manufacture of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) Pipe systems. He later started out on his own, as a minority stake holder. He was approached by Shekar in 2014, with the concept of biological remediation that struck a chord of interest, on how they touch lives of common man and industry.
Environmental sustainability and responsibility are good practices – ones that help companies, farmers, and communities, better manage resources into the future. The company uses biological restoration in all of its areas of operation excepting Hydrocarbons where it uses a biodegradable, (green) chemical product for breaking down hydrocarbon waste along with microbial treatment.
The process of biological restoration is achieved by using naturally occurring microbes – tiny living creatures that regulate all wild ecosystems. The Company’s approach is to provide contaminated sites with microbes that naturally “eat” unwanted materials. It removes not just initial contaminants including heavy metals, organic solvents, petroleum products and acids – but also handles byproducts that are produced during a clean up process, leaving no negative residual effects.

Whether its a backyard vegetable garden or crop farm, every grower wants to find higher yield, better crop quality and cost savings, all while serving as a good steward of the land. Replenishing humic material can achieve all those goals at once. Research shows that humic acid soil conditioner can increase yield in a host of ways: Improving seed germination, providing better soil texture to hold and distribute water, enabling the plant to absorb nitrogen more efficiently and helping to fight disease.
In studies throughout the world, humic substances have been shown to increase agricultural, horticultural and floricultural yields. Those studies also seem to indicate that the quality of the humate is important to the amount of increased yield or quality in the crop.
Most simply put soil conditioner is a substance that can be added to soil to change the soil properties. We carve out this definition simply to provide distinction and clarity for our customers. In today’s “fast green” world we see an over abundance of fertilizers and heavy focus on the chemical inputs but we often ignore the other two categories of soil amendments. We distinctly divide soil amendments into 3 categories;
Fertilizers - be it organic or synthetic a fertilizer is a soil amendment that provides plant nutrients.
Soil inoculants - are soil amendments that add biology to the soil in order to improve the soil food web. Often these focus on bacteria or fungi but can also include beneficial nematodes and other biology that play key roles in the carbon cycle. Soil biology plays a tremendous role in a healthy environment.
Soil conditioners - as previously stated that enhance soil properties. Often this is thought of as altering the soil physical structure but that is only part of the effect. Soil properties include many areas such as cation exchange capacity, soil pH, water holding capacity, or soil compaction. Soil conditioners repair damaged soil and help maintain the soil quality for plant life. Over time soil will become compacted; soil conditioners help to loosen the soil as well as replenish and maintain nutrients in order for the plants to flourish. The end product of the Composting cycle is Humus, which is dark brown or black and will not decompose any further. Humus is important to the condition of the soil because it readily chelates soil nutrients and greatly increases the water holding capacity.
The soil’s ability to hold and release various elements and compounds that plants need for nutrition is through a process called Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Soil Conditioners are used to balance out the Cation Exchange Capacity within the different types of soil. Because there are various types of soil, there are various levels of the CEC within each of these different types. Soil conditioners will bind together the atoms plants need in order to grow. They are also able to release the different nutrients at the time when the plant needs them the most. The property of the soil is ultimately changed through soil conditioner to be the most perfect state that a plant needs.
Green Mine is a 100% organic humic and fulvic acid fertilizer made from an incredibly unique humus deposit. Green Mine is rare because it contains 67.7% water soluble humic acid that comes from peat humus. Green Mine contains 16 important and naturally occurring trace elements. The wealth of biology, organic acids, carbon and humus makes it best product for Floriculture and Horticulture.
Jump Start Soil Conditioner restores soils to healthy and fertile conditions. The presence of soil amendments such as humic, fulvic and ulmic acids break up compacted soils. The tremendous benefit is soil that is easier to work or till and has an increased aeration thus allowing the plant roots to grow bigger and stronger.
Liquid Fish hydrolysate is an all organic, highly nutritional fish fertilizer for plants.
The poultry farmer’s greatest fear is disease. E. Coli, Clostridium, Salmonella, Enteritis and many other diseases can decimate a flock and the farmer financially. The traditional way to fight disease has always been a disinfection strategy. Clean out and sterilize everything in the house, and give the birds antibiotics as a way of disinfecting the inside of the bird.
The “disinfect in and out” strategy is partially correct: however Disinfection using chemicals and antibiotics causes other problems - drug resistance. Nothing kills 100% of disease causing microorganisms. More than likely, these pathogens survive because they are stronger than the rest or have a genetic mutation that allows them not to be killed by the disinfectants and antibiotics. These mutated disease strains are dangerous to both birds & human beings.
There have been a number of scientific studies describing how the use of humates and probiotics can positively impact bird health, increasing flock weights, decreasing mortality rates and in hens, increasing egg production and shell hardness. BoB takes poultry probiotics technology to the next level by introducing beneficial levels of Humic and Fulvic acids to the formula and helps a Broiler Farmer achieve what seems almost impossible to attain: A bigger, stronger, healthier bird. One wants a bird less susceptible to disease that puts on healthy weight effectively and efficiently.
Big Ole Bird is Biology Optimized for Birds. The combination of rich organic acids as well as activated carbon in a highly concentrated formula provides flock protection they need. Studies show that Big Ole Bird, provides a number of beneficial effects:
Improved weight gain. For laying hens:
The litter from a poultry farm is a source for disease and discomfort (odour) to the birds which hampers feed conversion rate and increases mortality. Traditional methods of disinfection employs use of toxic chemicals and it hardly promotes poultry welfare. Herein again use of Organics, beneficial microbes and activated carbon in litter treatment balances pH, reduces ammonia and hydrogen sulphide content, decomposition of poultry litter and uric acid. This provides unsurpassed ammonia & pathogens control and forms a biological barrier for poultry houses. Benefits include:
Poultry Litter provides a good source of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) for crop production. Because litter is a concentrated source of these nutrients, proper management of this resource is done by LMP by fixing key ingredients and ensuring that the litter can be converted to manure. LMP stabilizes and even increases available nitrogen in poultry manure when applied on Poultry Litter. Continued research and development has proven the all natural, all organic mix of microorganisms is effective for nutrient management with regard to nitrogen retention.
The concentration of organics from fish feces and excessive food create natural buildup of ammonia due to the waste degradation. This organic matter increases the oxygen demand and ammonia levels which may become hazardous to fish. Such problems are intrinsic to any fish or shrimp breeding operation. The consortium of microbes incorporates nitrifying bacteria species for ammonia removal while speeding up the degradation process. As one microbial family in this high performance composition is digesting the organic substances, other microbial groups that grow by consuming inorganic nitrogen compounds are setting off the nitrification process.
